FOND DU LAC - DONA International has named local birth professional Kamala McCormick a recipient of the new designation of Advanced Certified Birth Doula established in 2015.
This designation serves to honor its certified doulas who have maintained certification in good standing for a minimum of six years, and during their tenure as a DONA-certified doula, pursued additional training, certification and/or licensure in a related field(s); been published on the topic of doulas, birth, breastfeeding, parenting or postpartum issues; and made major contributions to the promotion and advancement of the mission and purpose of DONA International, the doula profession and in the maternal-child field.
Having met DONA International’s rigorous eligibility criteria, McCormick is privileged to be one of a select few doulas in the world to have earned this advanced certification, exclusive to DONA International.
McCormick is a birth doula. She is a certified pregnancy and postpartum fitness educator and Dancing For Birth instructor. McCormick holds certified credentials through DONA International, International Childbirth Education Association and Dancing For Birth. She instructs, empowers and assists women during their pregnancy and motherhood journeys.
McCormick serves clients throughout the Milwaukee and Fox Valley regions.
DONA International is a nonprofit organization founded in 1992 for the education, support and recognition of doulas – those who provide support to families during childbirth and soon afterward. The organization has over 6,500 members in 54 countries. DONA International provides education and certification for both birth and postpartum doulas and sets the world standard for professional doula support.
